WHO ARE WE?
The Czech Society of International Law (CSMP-CSIL) is a voluntary, non-profit organization of academics and professionals in the field of international law in the Czech Republic. The Society was established in 1993 as
a successor of the Czechoslovak Society of International Law, acting under the auspices of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences.
CSMP-CSIL is a scientific organization associated with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It is subsidized by the Council of Scientific Societies of the Czech Republic.
The Society closely cooperates mainly with the Czech Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) and with foreign societies of international law. It represents, through its members, the Czech doctrine of international law in international scientific organizations, at international conferences and at other similar occasions.
Our main goals are as follows:
- to support the development of international law doctrine,
- to enhance the role of international law in international relations,
- to incite and to carry on research in and popularization of international law,
- to support progressive development and codification of international law (in cooperation with academic and professional legal institutions),
- to provide an opportunity for contacts and informal cooperation of its members working in the academia and law professions.
The Society pursues these goals in particular in the form of lectures and discussions, research conferences and by publishing non-periodical books and periodicals.
Czech Yearbook of Public & Private International Law (On-line)
The CSMP-CSIL is the Editor of a periodical on-line publication Czech Yearbook of Public & Private International Law.
